TOURING WITH THE SOBs

Touring is a special part of the SOB experience — four times a year, the SOBs pack up our bags and travel across the country and the world, at no cost to group members. From the shores of Costa Rica to the cafés of Vienna, we have sung and explored all over the world. Between our four yearly tours, SOBs spend a substantial portion of their year traveling and growing alongside 20 of their best friends. As far as we’re concerned, this is what college is for: exploring both yourself, traveling the world, and yelling song lyrics in the car on a highway going to who knows where. If that’s the goal, we can think of no better place to spend college than the Society of Orpheus and Bacchus.

LAST YEAR’S TOURS (2022-2023)

This past year, the Society of Orpheus and Bacchus travelled all over the country and the world, with plenty of fun (and even a little bit of singing) along the way. We started off the year with a week-long trip down to D.C., making some time to explore the National Mall and the city’s vibrant museums. Having gotten a taste of the warmth, we went even further South for the winter, hitting hometowns in the South (Roll Tide!), basking in some warmth and spending time with friends of the group.

The SOBs went even bigger with our spring break, and hopped across the pond to the Czech Republic, where we wandered the dazzling streets of Old Town Prague and drove out to the countryside to visit one of our neophytes’ hometowns. Partway through, we made a detour into Austria, hitting up Salzburg and Vienna, two of the most storied cities in the history of European art and music. What more could anyone ask for?

Lastly, after an exhausting finals season, we spent a week relaxing in Minnesota and Wisconsin, riding roller coasters in the Mall of America, kayaking on the stunning lakes of Northern Wisconsin, and so much more. A lovely, calm end to an incredible S.O.Year.
